Meaningful Learning in Mathematics: A Research Synthesis of Teaching Approaches

The premise on which our synthesis is based the fragmentation of research focused teaching and learning in mathematics. Our intention to build an aggregate from these sources context school education meaningful learning. targets links between different approaches used teaching, interaction during teaching-learning process outcomes. Methodologically, dataset consists qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods studies meta-analyses. An EBSCO search produced 69 analysis-eligible publications 2007-2019. According findings, use contextual, concrete social promotes mathematics, although with certain refinements. analyses revealed that high-quality mathematics requires guidance student activities evaluation immediate feedback process. It also skill among teachers choose suitable contexts tools, focus students’ communication what relevant. Additional significant factors a include affectively favourable classroom atmosphere who treat their students as individuals.
